Background of Fassernate

Fassernate is truly a new dawn in the world of business and entrepreneurship.

Fassernate is an innovative mobile application that was designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises (iSMEs) grow and succeed. The CEO and founder of Fassernate, Mr. Elton Fasser, is a visionary who has over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology sector. Mr. Fasser comes from humble beginnings, born in the Western Coloured Township in Johannesburg, later renamed Westbury. He has a passion for using technology to solve common challenges and build sustainable businesses for the future.

The first version of Fassernate was released in March 2021, and after lessons learned and a complete redesign, it was re-released in March 2022. It has quickly gained popularity, with over 1500 downloads and was nominated in multiple categories at the 2022 MTN Business App Of The Year Awards.

Fassernate was created with the goal of putting the power back into the hands of those who have been ignored, who cannot afford it, who never thought it was possible, and those who never thought of it before. The application was designed to provide an empowering solution to common problems faced by iSMEs, from a simple example such as lunchtime. With Fassernate, people can pre-order and pay for food, freeing up time for the owner to prepare the food and even employ someone to make deliveries, and saving time for customers by not having to stand in long queues.

Fassernate's vision is to connect everything, from ordering bread and milk from a local spaza, to selling anything from products to services. The goal is to make it simple for anyone to create a business and start selling, regardless of education, experience, or knowledge. With Fassernate, the possibilities are endless.

We strive to make the process of signing up and creating a business on Fassernate as streamlined and accessible as possible. Our aim is to support entrepreneurship and assist businesses in getting started. Regardless of financial situation, knowledge, or education, anyone can create a business on our platform. However, it's important to note that this does not grant permission to exploit customers in any way. All businesses are expected to adhere to high standards.

Cash-based businesses that perform well and receive high customer ratings may be eligible for a mark of approval. This requirement is also stated in our user agreements. However, if you fail to deliver on your promises, engage in fraudulent activities, or attempt to scam customers, severe consequences will follow. You will be permanently banned from our platform, and we will take both legal and personal measures to ensure that you cannot conduct business with anyone again.

While these measures may appear strict, we are committed to protecting our platform, businesses, and customers at all costs.

  • Fees per electronic transaction = 5.5% if you sign up before 31 December 2022. 10% there after.

Important - Electonic Payments

Businesses setting up electronic payments must be verified. Email your relevant FICA documents to support@fasssernate.com for verification. Once verified, your business will be marked as trustworthy. However, the mark of approval is subject to review. Failure to meet standards or deliver to customers may result in revocation. Payments will be collected through the PayFast gateway. Verified businesses will receive payouts twice a week to their designated bank account. If your business is not verified, no mark of approval will be awarded. Payments will only be made to the designated bank account once the customer has received goods or services for security purposes.

Charge on a R100 transaction: (100 * 5%) * 15% VAT = (5.5 + 0.83 VAT) = R6.33.

Total charge on a R100 transaction: R6.33.

Your payout for a R100 transaction will be R93.67.
